For anyone who has purchased a brand new Kia vehicle, it is important that they get familiar with the automobile. Even though they might know how to drive they should pay attention to how their new vehicle would be ready to be driver and how to get it started.
IGNITION SWITCH
INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM
Shift the selector of the Kia vehicle lever to the P (Park) position. Turn the ignition switch slightly in the ON direction. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. Remove the key if it is inserted in the ignition switch of the

There is an OFF position between the LOCK and ACC positions. The OFF position is indicated by a "1" on the key cylinder. When the ignition is in the OFF position, the steering wheel is not locked.
Apply the parking brake on the automobile. Move the shift selector lever to P (Park) or N (Neutral). P (Park) is recommended. The starter is designed not to operate unless the clutch pedal is fully de- pressed.
Return the ignition switch in the
Used autos for sale to the LOCK position. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. When the buzzer of the automobile beeps 4 times continuously, check for the ignition switch is returned to the LOCK position, the mechanical key is not inserted into the ignition switch. The inside warning buzzer stops when one of the following is performed:
Return the ignition switch of the car to the LOCK position.
Remove the car mechanical key from the ignition switch.
Close the car doors.
Do not depress the accelerator pedal while shifting from P (Park) or N (Neutral) to R (Reverse), D (Drive) or L (Low). Always depress the brake pedal until shifting is completed. Failure to do so could cause you to lose control and have an accident with the automobile. Cold engine idle speed is high, so use caution when shifting into a forward or reverse gear before the engine has warmed up. Do not down shift the automobile abruptly on slippery roads. This may cause a loss of control. Never shift to P (Park) or R (Reverse) while the vehicle is in motion. This could cause the vehicle to get into an accident.
CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT)
The CVT in your vehicle is electronically controlled to produce maximum power and smooth operation. The shift selector lever cannot be moved out of P (Park) and into any of the other gear positions if the ignition key is turned to the LOCK, OFF or ACC position or if the key is removed.
Thus once the driver gets to understand the starting up functions of the vehicle, he could get the car ready properly and could drive the car more safely.
